There are many options for secondary lens implantation including ACIOL, intrascleral haptic fixation of a 3-piece lens (Yamane technique) and scleral fixation of an Akreos AO60 lens with Gore-Tex suture. This case is a continuation from episode 3 where we explanted a dislocated IOL. Here we implant an Akreos lens and use a 4 point fixation technique to secure the lens to the scleral surface. Although not specified in the video, the suture used is CV-8 Gore-Tex suture. We review the basics steps for this procedure. There are alternatives and modifications to the steps described here, which we will demonstrate in future videos.
