Drainage of hemorrhagic choroidal detachments may be necessary, typically when they are appositional in nature. In the current episode we demonstrate a choroidal drainage procedure for a patient who has both hemorrhagic choroidal detachments and a retinal detachment. We discuss timing of drainage (along with b-scan features that can help guide your surgical timing), pressurization of the globe prior to drainage, and the creation of a sclerotomy to drain the choroidal.
