116. Diabetic TRD: Operating in the Correct Surgical Plane

In today’s episode we will focus on operating in the correct surgical plane, at the vitreoretinal interface, to tackle diabetic tractional retinal detachments.  This not only makes surgical repair safer by decreasing the risk of iatrogenic breaks, but it also makes the surgery more efficient.  Our returning guest surgeon is Dr. Jesus Maticorena from Peru and his patient is a monocular diabetic with longstanding tractional retinal detachment involving the macula.  Thank you Dr. Maticorena for sharing this case!
