
Indocyanine green (ICG) effectively stains the ILM, thereby facilitating visualization and potentially improving surgical efficiency. While ICG can be a lower-cost alternative to Brilliant Blue dye, it’s use for ILM staining is off-label and may increase the risk of RPE, retina and optic nerve toxicity.
