Parasitic roundworms and flatworms can potentially migrate into the subretinal space, causing retinal and optic nerve damage. In today’s case presented by guest surgeon of the week Dr. David Lozano Giral and his attending at the time Dr. Antonio Lopez Bolanos, we will show you the surgical management of subretinal gnathostomiasis associated with a retinal detachment. This is a very rare ocular condition, which we discuss in more detail at the end of the video. We want to thank Dr. Lozano Giral and Dr. Lopez Bolanos for sharing this case with us!
