Today we’re honored to be joined by co-moderator Dr. Ehsan Rahimy, a valued Retina Rounds contributor and Adjunct Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Stanford University. We will comment on a case involving a patient who previously underwent vitrectomy with silicone oil tamponade for retinal detachment repair. Postoperatively, a sub-macular PFCL bubble was detected, and the patient is now scheduled for surgery to remove both the oil and the sub-macular PFCL. We’ll discuss key surgical decision points, anticipated complications, and share strategies and pearls for these challenging scenarios.
