In this episode, co-moderator Dr. Ehsan Rahimy and I review a surgical video submitted by Dr. Bruno Felipe Silva, a vitreoretinal fellow at the University of São Paulo in Brazil, under the supervision of his attending, Dr. Marcelo Rego, MD, PhD. Using this case as a framework, we walk through practical steps to optimize success when repairing a giant retinal tear detachment including preoperative planning and intraoperative setup as well as key maneuvers for stabilizing the retina and minimizing complications in the OR.
