Today’s case features an intraocular foreign body embedded in the choroid, a scenario with high risk for both bleeding and retinal detachment. We’ll walk through strategies to pretreat in anticipation of choroidal bleeding or retinal detachment, and practical tips to achieve rapid, controlled hemostasis if bleeding occurs. Many thanks to our guest surgeon, Dr. Hildegard Pineros, and assistant surgeon Dr. Ignacio Navarro from Centro Oftalmológico del Caribe in Barranquilla, Colombia for sharing this case!
