Today’s case comes from Dr. Aissani Frederic, Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at Cambrai Hospital in France. He presents a challenging patient with chronic, recalcitrant cystoid macular edema after multiple prior surgeries. In the video, Dr. Frederic shows us a scleral fixation technique for an Iluvien fluocinolone implant. Dr. Rahimy and I use the case as a springboard to talk about how we evaluate and manage patients with persistent CME who have already failed the usual treatments.
