Illustration of a surgical procedure showing forceps elevating fibrovascular proliferation and closed scissors for blunt dissection, labeled for clarity. Title: 'Accessing the Proper Surgical Plane'.

Guest surgeon Dr. Mohannad Tobaigy shares a challenging diabetic combined tractional–rhegmatogenous retinal detachment from his fellowship training at King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital, which he performed under the supervision of Dr. Sulaiman Alsulaiman.  The case highlights a bimanual surgical approach, which improves dissection efficiency once the proper surgical plane is accessed.  Thank you Dr. Tobaigy for sharing this case!
