25. PVR-associated RD: Part 2

In part 2 of our series of videos breaking down a PVR-associated retinal detachment repair we demonstrate the process of peeling PVR membranes from the detached retinal surface. In this episode we use Trypan Blue to stain the posterior hyaloid and/or PVR membranes and use a combination of ILM forceps and the Flex Loop to peel the membranes from the posterior pole to the periphery along the surface of the retina. We also use Tissue Blue to assist with peeling ILM and discuss precautions and best practices when using PFCL for posterior counter-traction while peeling peripherally.
