49. ROP: Spontaneous Pre-retinal Hemorrhage

In today’s episode guest surgeon Dr. Aaron Nagiel demonstrates endoscopic vitrectomy in an infant with ROP and a spontaneous preretinal hemorrhage.  The infant presented in this case has a corrected gestational age of 40weeks with stage 2 ROP and no plus disease.  The goal of surgery is to clear the visual axis since the preretinal hemorrhage may consolidate and cause either amblyopia or tractional retinal detachment. At the end of the case we discuss the classification, screening and treatment of ROP. We want the thank Dr. Nagiel for sharing this case!
