There are many ways to remove a dislocated IOL. Some common techniques include removing the IOL in it’s entirety through a scleral tunnel wound, cutting it in half in the anterior chamber and removing it through a clear corneal wound, partially transecting and rotating the IOL out of a clear corneal wound (“Pac-Man” technique) and the twist and out technique that we showed you in episode 32. In today’s episode, returning guest surgeon Dr. Thada Tantisarasart shows us how to pull the IOL out through an IOL cartridge. It’s an elegant technique that reduces the risk of endothelial damage. Thank you Dr. Tantisarasart for sharing this case!
