What happens when a primary buckle fails? Most surgeons may opt to perform a pars plana vitrectomy. However, as an alternative, simply revising the buckle may solve the failure. Our guest surgeon for this episode is Dr. Luis C. Escaf, Chief Scientific Officer and vitreoretinal specialist at the Clinica Oftalmologica del Caribe in Barranquilla, Colombia. He shows us an elegant chandelier-assisted buckle revision in a monocular patient who is a medical student. At the end of the case we will discuss why buckles may fail and surgical options to revise a buckle. Thank you Dr. Escaf for sharing this case!
