In this episode, we feature a case submitted by Dr. Selim Haddar, an ophthalmologist from Tunis, Tunisia, affiliated with the Ophthalmology Department at Charles Nicolle University Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tunis El Manar. The patient is a 61-year-old who previously underwent pars plana vitrectomy with silicone oil implantation for a retinal detachment in the right eye, was lost to follow-up, and now re-presents five months later with intraocular inflammation, an intraocular pressure of 40, and a white cataract. After initiating IOP-lowering medications and topical steroids, the patient is scheduled for surgery, and we use this case to explore the management of suspected posterior capsule rupture following vitrectomy. Thank you, Dr. Haddar, for sharing this case!
